Beyond the myth of Spontaneous Generation
For Louis Pasteur it all started with studying crystal structure. From that base and through his unique scientific observation methods Pasteur went on to solve the mystery of diseases such as anthrax, rabies, silkworm disease, chicken cholera. Louis Pasteur's methods helped to bring about the world's first vaccines. His hypothesis of the germ theory led research into the fermentation process and the role of microorganisms within that process.

Louis Pasteur lived from 1822 to 1895. Before his age spontaneous generation was a theory that was widely agreed upon by scientists whereby living organisms are created by non living matter.

He was born in Dole on December 27 in France in the region of Jura.

His work led to branches of science such has microbiology and medical practices were altered in hospitals and elsewhere to include the pasteurization or purification process to help reduce the spreading of germs.
